About the Client
KART IQ is an education, technology, and community ecosystem for young, ambitious karting racers. At its center sits a book that breaks the sport down into 14 measurable systems across four phases — Fundamentals, Technique, Strategy, and Optimization — each one a lever a driver can actually pull to get faster.
The book anchors a wider toolkit — checklists, calculators, a seven-language community — and the app we built to bring it all to the track. The book teaches the method; the app puts it to work.

What We Built
The app is the execution layer of an entire method — every lap a driver runs feeds the system the book teaches.
It moves to the same rhythm as the book — see it, do it, test it, share it — so the two pull in the same direction instead of competing for a driver's attention. A racer reads a technique, goes out and tries it, logs the lap, and sees in plain numbers whether it worked. The loop closes on the track, not in theory. That tight coupling between book and app is the engine of the whole product, and protecting it shaped almost every decision that followed.

Our Approach
Before we drew a single screen, we got clear on who’d actually be holding the phone. It is important to understand whether it is a teenager between runs, a mom or dad in the paddock, or a coach reading numbers over a shoulder — and what each of them needs from it. Everything else followed.
So, we followed a few principles during the development:
Map every feature to the method. If a screen didn’t serve a step the book teaches, it didn’t make the cut.
End every screen in a decision. A view had to help a driver answer the question “What do I change next?” — otherwise, it was just decoration.
Earn trust in the numbers. If the data could be lost, gamed, or misread, no one would act on it — so reliability and integrity came before polish.
Design the growth in. The hooks that let the product spread — sharing, reports, community ties — were part of the plan from day one, not a later phase.
Our work is based on fast iterations, with zero guesswork. We push the riskiest parts into production early to gather real-world feedback, validate the architecture, and adjust the product before costs grow.
Core Features
Real-Time Lap Timing & Telemetry
Track every lap in real time. Sector splits, speed, and delta to a personal best help you see at a glance where you are gaining time and where you are leaving time on the track.
Why it’s important: Fast feedback allows you to progress faster between races.
Example: You pass the second sector with a lag of +0.18s from your best lap and immediately realize in which section you lost time.
Session History & Performance Reports
All sessions are saved by default, no matter whether the driver is online or offline. So, it is easy to analyze the progress, view results for any period, and export reports for coaches, sponsors, or analysis.
Why it’s important: Progress becomes measurable.
Example: Six months later, you can compare an average lap time of 49.2s to 51.7s during your first runs on the same track.

Setup Management & Version Tracking
Save map settings for each track and track all changes. Compare different configurations and see how they affect speed and stability.
Why it’s important: You don’t have to repeat the same experiments over and over again.
Example: A 0.2 bar reduction in rear tire pressure improved the average lap time by 0.35s over a 15-lap race.
Performance Analytics & Lap Comparison
Turn raw telemetry data into valuable insights. This will enable you to compare laps, analyze the stability of results, and find changes that really affect speed.
Why it’s important: Decisions are made based on data, not assumptions.
Example: Two sessions have the same best lap time, but analytics show that one is 40% more consistent over the race distance.
Verified Leaderboards
Compare your results with other drivers in your class. Verified results support fair competition and make the rating truly valuable.
Why it’s important: Competing motivates you to get back on track and keep progressing.
Example: You are 12th in your category and only 0.24 seconds behind the top 10.

Video Capture & Social Sharing
Create videos of your best runs with speed, lap time, and delta data overlaid. Ready videos can be immediately published on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or YouTube.
Why it’s important: Every session can become content to develop your personal brand.
Example: In a few seconds, you export a 20-second clip with a new personal best and all key metrics overlaid on the video.
Community & Driver Profiles
Create a profile that describes your history on the track: results, achievements, statistics, and activity in the community. Chat with other racers and compare your progress.
Why it’s important: Engagement doesn’t end after check-in.
Example: A profile with 150 sessions, 12 podiums, and a verified status immediately shows your level to other members of the community.
Book & App Learning Ecosystem
The book and the app work as a single system. The theory can be immediately tested in practice, and the results can be tracked directly on the track.
Why it’s important: Training becomes part of your daily preparation, not a stand-alone activity.
Example: After the chapter on braking points, you train on the track, and the application displays how it influenced the time spent on the lap.

Results
Lumitech delivered the KART IQ app as the working heart of the ecosystem — the piece that takes a method off the page and puts it in a driver’s hands, every lap.
What that adds up to:
One tool instead of a drawer full of them. Live timing, telemetry, setup analysis, leaderboards, and shareable content — capabilities that usually mean several separate, expensive apps — now live in one place.
A method that’s finally measurable. Drivers, parents, and coaches can point to a number when they ask what’s working — the entire reason KART IQ exists.
A product that grows itself. Branded video, sponsor reports, Discord, and book-code unlocks keep book, app, and community feeding each other.
Room to scale. The architecture leaves space for richer telemetry, AI-assisted coaching, and new classes and tracks — without starting over.
KART IQ is a small proof of a bigger idea: treat a sport as a measurable system, and you change how people learn it. Our part was the engineering underneath — the real-time data, the resilience, the analytics.
